Heritage Day reminds us of who we are

On Heritage Day – 24 September – Sinomlando Staff attended a gathering in Maqongqo with one of our partner organisations. It was wonderful to see so many children dressed in traditional clothing. It brought back memories of making crafted beaded items with the local women while we listened their stories. We hope to come back and continue this relationship with the community here!

Celebrating Heritage Day reminds us of where we come from, our histories, past relatives and where we belong. Take time to ask questions about your heritage and listen to the stories your parents and grandparents tell you. Because, making sense of our histories can help us develop resiliency and a sense of belonging.
